A lot people may ask: So why you're called Gingko? Is the founder called Mr. or Ms Gingko or something?  Well, please let us tell you the story behind it.   PAUL AND NATALIE

Gingko (some people also spell it Ginkgo) is actually a tree, and it's one of the oldest if not the Oldest tree on the planet, which is either originated from Japan or China . But now this tree can be widely seen on the streets in the UK and many other countries.

We love the Gingko tree,  not only because it looks absolutely magnificent at Autumn time when all the leaves turn into golden, but also the Gingko leaves can be used as  herbs or teas which are truly healthy to our body.  Most importantly is that the Gingko tree does last a long time and it's probably one of the oldest if not the oldest tree on the planet as mentioned above.

Therefore, the goal of the company founders, Paul Sun and his wife, is that they wish their products and designs can be as beautiful as the Gingko tree and as useful as the Gingko leaves.  Meanwhile, they also wish that the Gingko brand can last as long as Gingko tree, if it's not a too luxury wish. At least, this is their goal since the company was founded in Oxford, England in 2011 and that was why they named it Gingko or Gingko Design.

Now, at Gingko, we believe in ourselves that we're a design-led and people driven company with the objective of creating high-end, yet stylish and practical products for home and design-led gifts. We bring a fresh approach to design incorporating modern technology into everyday objects. Sometimes life can be complicated and technology too intrusive. Therefore by keeping our product lines simple yet engaging and keeping our products up to date with technology, as well as being aesthetically pleasing and sustainable has kept us driven and inspired.

Design, Quality & Time are our design ethos when every Gingko object is born. We give every item an ultimate stylish look in a minimalist design, craft it with our passion and love in our best standard of quality by using natural sustainable material as much as possible, create it to last as time goes by and to meet the business's philosophy of being sustainable and responsible for our environment.  And that's probably why our products have won so many awards across the globe such as the RedDot Design Award, German Design Award, Global Innovation Award from the US, Smart Design Award from Japan, Gift of the Year in the UK from 2018 to 2020, Gift of the Year in Spain in 2019 and UK 2020 Furniture Awards etc.

We’re currently based in Kenilworth, Warwickshire in the middle of England, which is just about 10-15 minutes away from Warwick Castle / Birmingham NEC and 2 hours drive from London city centre. We strongly believe that a united growth with our beloved customers is a better growth and we thrive on seeking and creating the out of the ordinary for our global business partners and customers, which enforces the foundation of our ethos, escape the boring: design for better and smarter life.
